Send pictures with the iPhone - how it works
E-mailing pictures from your iPhone has never been easier than with iOS 6. We'll show you how it's done.
Send pictures from iPhone with the mail app
From iOS 6 it is possible to insert pictures directly in the mail app. If you have an older iOS version, open the photo app, select an image, click on the arrow symbol in the lower left corner and select "Mail". The following instructions refer to the procedure under iOS 6:
- Open the mail app on your iPhone.
- Click on the icon with the pen in the bottom right to write a new email.
- Enter the recipient and a subject.
- Then click twice in the text field on a point where you want to insert the image.
- A menu opens in which you can find the item "Insert photo or video". This may only be visible if you click on the arrow on the right (see picture).
- You can then select an image and click "Send" in the top right corner.
- If this is a larger file, you have the option of compressing the image after pressing "Send". You can choose between the formats small, medium, large and the original size.
The practical tip refers to iOS 6.1.3 on iPhone 4. The procedure is the same on iPod touch and iPad. Tip: You can also share your photos via messaging services such as WhatsApp and social networks like Facebook.
