With the appropriate programs you can remove the noise from videos. You can find out how this works in this article.
Remove noise with Adobe After Effects CS5
Adobe After Effects is a powerful tool that lets you edit videos. However, the program is not cheap. With the 30-day demo version you can test the complete range of functions. With the pre-defined effects, you can easily remove the image noise.
- To start, import your video by clicking "File"> "Import"> "File ..." in the menu bar. Then drag the video into the timeline at the bottom left.
- Now click in the menu bar on "Effect"> "Disruption and Grain"> "Remove Grain". The effect is initially limited to a small square. This will be shown on the picture of your video. You can move the area in the Effect Manager on the left under "Preview Area"> "Center". The size can also be changed there.
- Under "Setting for 'Reduce interference'" you adjust the strength of the noise suppression. With "Reduce interference" you increase the degree of image noise. Do not choose a value that is too high, otherwise the image of the video will be blurred. The lower the value, the more details can be seen.
- If you are happy with the result, you can apply the effect to the entire image of the video. To do this, go to "View Mode" in the Effect Manager and select "Final Edition". The program now calculates the new image settings.
- The last thing to do is to render the video. In the menu bar, click on "Composition"> "Add to render list" and then click on "Render" in the lower area.
These instructions are for Adobe After Effects CS5. In older or newer versions, the effects can have a different name. In another practical tip, we will show you how to optimally render and export a video in Adobe After Effects.
