This is how Instagram regulates the image rights of your photos
When you take a photo, you have created a work and the image rights belong to you. This is regulated in the copyright law. Post the photos on Instagram, allow the platform to use your pictures.
- If you post photos on Instagram, you remain the owner of the images, including the associated rights.
- You grant Instagram a time-limited, worldwide license to use the images as soon as you upload, post or share them.
- The license is non-exclusive. This means that you can also use your image for other purposes.
- Instagram may “distribute, modify, copy, publicly display, display and translate” your content in accordance with the terms of use.
- The usage rights for your images end when you delete your Instagram account . However, photos are still visible if they have been shared by other users and have not been deleted by the account owner.
- You can permanently delete or deactivate your account. If you just shut down your account, the posted photos can be restored. They are not permanently deleted.
