Screen lock in Safari browser on iPhone and iPad: You can do that
Fraudsters have a new trick to collect money from iPhone and iPad users: a screen lock in the Safari browser should be unlocked for money. We'll show you how to get rid of the lock.
iPhone and iPad: lock screen in Safari
Recently, many iOS users in Safari suddenly get the message that the device is blocked due to a crime and can be revoked within 24 hours for a payment of 200 euros. This is a scam that you shouldn't pay attention to. Never pay money to the blackmailers. The message mostly appears when visiting illegal streaming sites or other dubious websites. You can unlock it with a simple trick:
- Go to the home screen and open Settings.
- Scroll down to "Safari" and tap on it.
- Tap "Clear history and website data" and confirm the operation.
- The message should no longer appear.
