Refresh rate - what is it?
If you see the name "Refresh rate!" On a product, it doesn't say much at first. We explain what this is in this practical tip.
What is the refresh rate?
- The refresh rate indicates how many frames per second are displayed on a monitor. The measure is used for PC monitors, but also for televisions.
- For example, if the refresh rate is 100 Hertz, 100 frames per second will be displayed on the screen.
- If the Hertz number is below 50, the image can already start to flicker for the human eye. It doesn't look nice and quickly triggers a headache.
- Attention: A TV with 200 Hertz is not necessarily better than another TV with a lower Hertz number. If the technology is implemented poorly, the higher Hertz number is no longer an advantage.
