Bypass BIOS password
Actually, the BIOS password is supposed to stand for a plus in security, but you can get around this hurdle quickly. In this practical tip, we explain how easy it is.
Pry out the BIOS password with the master password
The first way is to search for the master password for your motherboard.
- Enter the terms "BIOS Master Password" in the search in Google
- Then select a website, for example "gaijin.at".
- Here you will find a list of motherboard manufacturers and popular master passwords that are used.
- Find the manufacturer of your mainboard and enter the appropriate master password.
- For example, the manufacturer "Dell" also uses "Dell" as the password. Another procedure uses "IBM Aptiva" - here you have to hold down both mouse buttons when booting.
Open the housing of the PC and reset the BIOS password
If the passwords do not work, you can also unscrew the PC and thus delete the password. Disadvantage here: With firmly screwed PCs you cannot get to the mainboard.
- Find your motherboard via Google.
- Download the appropriate manual.
- Disconnect your PC from the power and open the case.
- Open the manual and look for the entry "Jumper".
- Now change the pins of the CMOS as described in the instructions.
- Wait a bit and put the pins back to the starting position.
- Alternatively, you can simply remove the mainboard battery and wait a few minutes.
- Then all the motherboard settings are reset - and the password is also deleted.
