Bitdefender: Add exception for blocked application
If Bitdefender blocks an application on your PC, you need to add an exception. Only then can you open the file or the program.
Release blocked application in Bitdefender
The Bitdefender antivirus program normally only protects you against dangerous viruses from the Internet. Unfortunately, however, it can always happen that an actual secure program is blocked and can no longer be used. In this case, you have to exclude the affected application from the virus scan:
- To do this, first open Bitdefender on your computer.
- Click on "Settings" in the menu bar on the top right
- Then select the "Antivirus" tile.
- Go to the "Exclusions" tab and click on "Excluded files and folders" under "Exclusions for files"
- Now click on the "Add" button and select the relevant file path in the next step. In order for the application to work properly, you should select the entire program folder.
- Now set the checkmark for "Both" in the selection window. Then confirm the change by clicking on "Add."

In the meantime, it is no longer enough to just install a virus protection program on the PC. Another practical tip shows you what you can do in the event of a virus on an Android smartphone.
