Remove BlackShades-RAT trojan
If you have caught the BlackShades RAT Trojan, you should remove it immediately. Our instructions show you the exact procedure.
- First download the current version of Detekt. Older versions are even more prone to errors.
- Disconnect the WLAN and remove the network cable. Now disable the protection of your anti-virus software.
- Restart Windows and wait for the system to be ready for use. Quit all unnecessary programs that have already started automatically.
- Right-click on the Detect download and select the "Run as administrator" option.
- Now let the scan run again. Do not work on the computer. If the trojan is found again, read on in the next paragraph.
Step 2: Analyze the discovery of the BlackShades RAT Trojan
- When the scan is finished, you will find a file called "Logfile" on the Dekstop. The results are recorded in this text file.
- Open the log file and look for the fault finding. You can usually recognize this by the ending ".exe".
- Google the file to find out more. Detekt often confuses the state Trojans with virus scanners or numerous other programs.
- If the alleged Trojan was a file from benign software, your computer is not infected with the Trojan.
Step 3: remove BlackShades-RAT trojan
Infection with the BlackShades RAT Trojan is extremely unlikely. 99 percent of the detection is a false alarm. Only if you are really sure that you are infected should you follow the steps below.
- The Trojan can only be removed by reinstalling Windows. To do this, follow these instructions for Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8.
- Before doing this, however, you must delete all data from the hard disk. This is the only way the Trojan completely disappears. You should also format all storage devices such as external hard drives.
- Since the Trojan was able to read everything, you should also change all passwords for home networks, WLAN networks, social networks, email services and online banking. Choose a password that is as secure as possible.
