Blogger: Embed Twitter widget - how it works
With Twitter you can not only inform your readers, but also directly integrate a Twitter widget on Blogger. This guide shows you how to put your own tweets or the contributions of a hashtag on your blog.
Create a Twitter widget for bloggers
- Log in to Twitter and open "Settings"> "Widgets".
- Click on the "New Widget" button.
- Next you have to define the content: This can be your timeline, another user's timeline, the tweets from a list or the tweets for a hashtag. The latter option is hidden behind the "Search" tab.
- Finally, click on "Create widget" to generate the necessary HTML code.
- Copy the code to your clipboard using the command [Ctrl] + [C]. Alternatively, a right-click on the marked HTML code and the "Copy" option is sufficient.
Embed Twitter in your own blog
You now need to insert the widget into Blogger. You can either create a new blog entry and paste the code in HTML mode. Alternatively, you can permanently integrate the widget in the right column of your blog:
- To do this, log in to Blogger and go to your blog.
- Switch to the "Layout" tab and click on "Add Gadget".
- In the new window, scroll to the "Text" section and switch to HTML mode in the text gadget.
- Here you insert the HTML code of the Twitter widget.
- Finally click on "Save" and "Save layout" at the top of the screen.
Tip: Read in the next blogger article how you can also integrate videos from YouTube, your PC and your mobile phone.
