Copy Blu-Ray - it works with this freeware
If you want to copy a Blu-Ray, this also works with free software. We'll show you how it's done.
Copy Blu-Ray - is it legal?
- If you buy a film on a Blu-Ray, it always has copy protection. According to the current legal situation, it is illegal to bypass such copy protection.
- Even if you only want to copy the Blu-Ray for your private collection, the use of software such as MakeMKV and DVDFab remains illegal.
- If you have burned a Blu-Ray yourself or if it contains no copy protection for other reasons, we will show you how to copy it in the next paragraph.

Transfer Blu-Ray to the hard drive without copy protection
- Download and install the free Handbrake program.
- Click on the "Source" button at the top left and select the inserted Blu-Ray.
- You will find the "Browse" button next to the "Destination" line. Find the desired path for the storage location here.
- The film is transferred to your computer via the "Start" button. This now takes a few minutes.
- Note: At the bottom of the window you will find numerous settings for the format of the film. You can adjust the values as you wish, but you don't have to.
