Activate Bluetooth on the laptop

Before you can use Bluetooth on your laptop, you have to activate it. You can then exchange data between your laptop and external devices such as your cell phone via Bluetooth.
Activate the Bluetooth module from the laptop
To use Bluetooth, you first have to activate the built-in module. This is done either with a key combination or via a switch on the housing:
- The key combination "Fn" + "F8" is widely used on laptops for activation. However, this function can also be completely omitted on laptops or on another key. If you do not activate Bluetooth with this key combination, check whether there is a Bluetooth symbol on another F key and select this instead of "F8" (see image).
- Some laptops have an additional switch on the case for activation. Check the sides of your laptop to see if there is one and then flip it over. These are not necessarily marked with the word Bluetooth.
Make Bluetooth ready for use
In order to use Bluetooth now, you must allow connections between the devices:
- If you have successfully activated the Bluetooth function of your laptop, press "Start" at the bottom left of the screen and enter "Bluetooth" in the search line.
- Then select "Change Bluetooth settings" under the search results.
- Activate the second check there so that you can establish connections with other devices. If you want other devices to be able to recognize your laptop, activate the first check (see picture).
- Nothing stands in the way of data exchange via Bluetooth.
