Bluetooth mouse does not move - what to do?
If your Bluetooth mouse is no longer moving, this can be due to both the device and Windows. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
First aid: Bluetooth mouse has stopped working
- Battery: First check the battery. If the laser on the underside of the battery no longer lights up or only lights up irregularly, replace the battery. If the battery is still charged, remove it anyway and then insert it again.
- USB: Unplug the Bluetooth mouse from your PC and plug it into another USB port.
- Hub: Also make sure that you are not using a hub for USB devices. In addition, remove all other USB devices from your computer.
- PC: If possible, connect the mouse to another computer. If it does not work here, there is a high probability that the mouse is defective.
Troubleshooter: Bluetooth mouse does not move
Note: For the following steps you should get a working mouse or use the touchpad on the laptop. Alternatively, you can operate Windows using the keyboard. We show you how this works in this practical tip.
- Open the Control Panel and select the "Devices and Printers" under the "Hardware and Sound" category.
- Find the Bluetooth mouse here and click the device with the right mouse button.
- Select the "Troubleshoot" option and wait a moment.
- If Windows found an error, the system then tries to fix it itself.
Device Manager: Update and reinstall the Bluetooth mouse
- Press the "Windows" and "R" keys simultaneously so that the "Execute" command opens.
- Enter "devmgmt.msc" here and confirm with "OK". Then the device manager starts.
- You will find the Bluetooth mouse under the category "Mice and other pointing devices".
- Right-click on the entry and select the "Update driver software" option.
- If that doesn't help, uninstall and install the mouse by right-clicking on the entry.
