Using a Bluetooth mouse without a dongle - is that possible?
Radio and Bluetooth mice are particularly popular for laptops. The only problem is the dongle, without which the mouse often does not work. This practical tip will tell you whether you can use your mouse without a dongle.
Bluetooth mouse without dongle: Depending on the PC
- First, a distinction must be made as to whether the mouse is a conventional wireless mouse with its own radio frequency or a Bluetooth mouse. Mice without Bluetooth can usually only be operated with the supplied dongle.
- The situation is different with Bluetooth mice: You can connect them to all devices that have a Bluetooth chip installed. This can be PCs and laptops as well as tablets or smartphones.
- Most modern notebooks today are equipped with the Bluetooth standard. You don't need a separate dongle for your mouse here.

- Tip: If you don't have Bluetooth on your PC, there are particularly small and space-saving adapters that you can simply plug into the USB port. You can get these for around 5 euros on Amazon.
