Create .bmp file - Here's how
A .bmp file is a graphic file, better known as a bitmap. You can actually create a .bmp file with any image editing program.
Create bmp file
If you have created an image in an image editing program, you can usually also save it as a Windows Bitmap (BMP).
- If you use Gimp, you cannot use the format directly for saving, but have to go via "File -> Export as" and select .bmp as the format.
- In Photoshop you can save an image as a bitmap directly via "File -> Save as" by selecting BMP as the format. However, you must first make sure via "Image -> Mode" that the checkmarks for "RGB color" and "8-bit channel" are set.
- Use Paint for image editing, save your image via "File -> Save as" and choose BMP as the format.
By the way, you can also convert PDF to BMP. Instructions for this can be found in the next article.
