Change order in Windows 8 boot manager
If you set up Windows 8 on your computer, your own boot manager will also be installed automatically. This usually starts Windows 8 automatically, even if you have installed other operating systems. However, you can easily change the order of the boot manager.
- Start your computer as usual and boot Windows 8.
- Switch to desktop mode.
- Press the key combination [WINDOWS] + [R]. The "Run dialog" should appear.
- Enter "msconfig" in the new dialog and confirm your entry by pressing the [Enter] key.
- Switch to the "Start" tab.
- In the table you will find all operating systems that the Windows 8 boot manager also recognizes.
- Select the desired operating system from the list and click on "As default".
- Save the settings with a click on "Apply" and close the window. At the next start, the boot manager will automatically start your selected operating system.
