Bratwurst: There are so many calories in the popular grill food
The bratwurst is undisputedly the Germans' favorite grill food. The meat specialty is fatty and has many calories. Vitamins and minerals are also included.
Bratwurst: Different calories depending on the type of meat
Statistically speaking, every German eats three kilograms of bratwurst a year. The pork sausage is particularly popular - it is also the most high-calorie variant.
- The pork sausage has a calorific value of 290 calories per 100 grams. 65 percent of them are fat, 30 percent are proteins and 5 percent are carbohydrates.
- The beef sausage has a slightly lower calorie content: 100 grams of the sausage have around 260 kcal.
- Expect 270 calories per 100 grams for a veal sausage.
- Nuremberg sausages are a popular delicacy - and have 335 calories per 100 grams. But the fat content is lower than in pork. Here it is 35 grams.
- A poultry or lamb sausage is lower in calories. With a fat content of approximately 15 to 20 grams, 100 grams of these sausages have a maximum of 210 kcal.
Grilled sausage and vitamins
The good news: in addition to fat, the bratwurst can also offer minerals and vitamins.
- Vitamins B1, B2, B6 and B12 and E are available. Vitamin E, for example, has a positive effect on your skin.
- In addition, iron, fluoride, calcium and magnesium as well as iodine and zinc can be found in the sausage.
- These ingredients do not make the sausage a healthy food, of course - but enjoyed in moderation and in combination with an otherwise healthy diet, there is nothing to be said against enjoying the barbecue with the sausage.
