Buy and print stamps online - how it works
If you don't have any stamps at hand, you can easily buy and print them out online. We'll show you how to save yourself the trip to the post office.
Buy stamps online: Registration at Deutsche Post
You need a customer account to buy stamps from German Post. Registration is free and can be done in just a few steps.
- You can register as a new customer on the Swiss Post website.
- To do this, click on "Register now" in the "Registration for new customers" area and fill out the form.
- If you are already an eFiliale customer or Postcard customer, you can simply log in.
Deutsche Post: Buy and print stamps online
- You can select the desired stamp on the Deutsche Post website.
- Then indicate how many stamps you want. Here you can also book additional services such as "registered mail".
- Once you have selected all the stamps you want, click on the shopping cart at the top right and check your selection.
- Accept the terms and conditions and click on "Next step" below. Check all data here again.
- The first time you buy, you need to add a payment method. You can choose between PayPal, direct debit and credit card.
- Depending on the payment method, you will be forwarded to the respective provider via the "Buy Now" button.
- If you have completed the payment, you can download the stamp as a PDF and print it out.
- You will also receive the link to the download by email. This means you can still print out the stamp later.
- Cut out the internet stamp and stick it on your envelope. You don't have to do more. You can simply throw the letter into the mailbox, the internet stamps work like normal stamps.
If you want to make sure that your letter arrives, you should make sure that it is addressed in a legible manner. The easiest way is to print the address on the envelope. We will explain how this works with Word in the next practical tip.
