Clean Brother printhead - Here's how
If your Brother printer prints dirty or streaks, you should clean the print head. Only a few simple steps are necessary. In this practical tip we will show you how to do this.
It's that easy: Clean the Brother print head
- Turn on the printer and make sure that all of the ink cartridges are firmly seated.
- Then press the "Menu" button on the printer and use the arrow keys to scroll to the "Ink" entry. Confirm with OK".
- Before you start cleaning, you should do a test print. Use the arrow keys to select the "Test print" item and confirm twice with "Ok". The test print starts with the "Start" button.
- You will then receive the test print. After this has been printed out, the printer asks you about its quality. You can confirm this with 1 or deny it with 2.
- If a color is not displayed correctly, you can do a print head cleaning for the respective color by negating it.
- As a result, pressure is pumped through the nozzles and the line, which can sometimes consume a lot of ink. You should therefore only clean the print head for the color that is displayed incorrectly or not at all.
- You may need to do the cleaning several times. After each cleaning you will receive a new printout with which you can check the quality.
