Making burger patties yourself is easy: if you know how to do it properly. In this article we will show you how to make the perfect patty.
You need this to make burger patties yourself
It doesn't take much for burger patties, most of them are already at home. We have listed everything else for you here:
- About 180 grams of minced beef per patty.
- Some salt and pepper.
- Optional garlic and paprika powder.
- We recommend refined sunflower oil. Cold-pressed olive oil in particular is not suitable for cooking due to the previous smoke development.
- A grill pan for the right look.
- A spoon, baking parchment blanks and a pan to shape the patties.
- Optionally, instead of baking paper and pan, you can also use a burger patty press.
How to make the perfect burger patties yourself
First work salt, pepper, garlic and paprika powder into the meat and form balls from 180 grams of minced beef.
- Cut suitable baking paper squares and place the balls in between. Now flatten the balls into patties with the bottom of a pan.
- Optionally fill the burger patty press and form your pieces.
- Ideally, the pieces of meat are a maximum of two centimeters thick, since the patties in the pan usually become a little thicker and otherwise become too large.
- Now place the molded patties in the refrigerator for at least half an hour, at best for two hours. This way, the meat does not fall apart during frying and does not deform too much.
- You can also use a spoon to form a small depression on the bottom of the patties. This keeps them flat when roasting.
- To prevent the meat from falling apart, fry the patties in the grill pan with a little sunflower oil over medium heat. Ideally, you should only use the meat once.
- Before eating, the meat should rest for about five to ten minutes. So you give the muscle strands the opportunity to bind the water again and the juice does not come out immediately.
