CCleaner: restore registry - how it works
If problems occur after cleaning the system with the CCleaner, you can restore your registry and thus undo changes. We'll show you how.
Restore registry using CCleaner
You can use the CCleaner to find and remove unnecessary entries in the registry, among other things. If you have previously created a backup file, you can also undo this process.
- Before the CCleaner starts cleaning the registry, you will be asked if you want to create a backup file. Confirm this and save the file on your hard drive.
- The registry backup is then available as a REG file and can be restored at any time. Simply open the file with a double click and confirm with the Yes button that you want to continue.
- Note: If you have not made a backup, you cannot restore your registry. If you absolutely want to return to the old state, you have to completely reset Windows.
