CCleaner does not start - this may be the reason
With the CCleaner you clean up your system and also wipe the traces from your browser. If the tool does not start, you may be using an outdated software version or you have to start the program with administrator rights. This practical tip shows you what you can do to fix the problem.
CCleaner won't start - you can do that
- Before starting CCleaner, you should first close programs that are running in the background.
- You should also briefly switch off your firewall and the antivirus program.
- If the problem persists, you should start the CCleaner with administrator rights. To do this, right-click on the shortcut and select the "Run as administrator" option. Confirm this process and wait for the CCleaner to start.
- You may also be using an outdated version of the CCleaner. Therefore, you should try to completely uninstall the program and set it up again. You can find the latest version of the CCleaner in our download portal.
