CD songs as FLAC files - how it works
If you want to experience pure music enjoyment on the go, you can save the songs on your CD as FLAC files. This practical tip explains how to extract the songs into FLAC format and save them on your hard drive.
Convert music CD with Foobar2000 to FLAC format
The individual steps can also be found again in the picture gallery.
- Download the Foobar2000 and Flac programs and install them on your computer.
- Start Foobar2000 and insert the audio CD.
- In Foobar2000 click on the "File" tab in the top right and select "Open audio CD ...".
- A new window is opening up. Select the "Rip" button.
- Select the tracks you want to extract from the CD to your hard drive.
- Once you have selected the songs, click on the "Proceed to the Converter Setup dialog" button under "Actions".
- A new window appears with the name "Converter Setup". Select the "Output format" option here.
- Select "FLAC" and click "Back".
- Now you can click "Convert" and choose a location where your songs will be extracted.
- Finally, select the path in which "flac.exe" is located. By default, this is the path "C: \ Program Files (x86) \ FLAC \ flac.exe".
- Now your tracks are saved as FLAC files and you can play them back with the VLC media player, for example.
