Open CDA file - how it works
CDA files can be found on audio CDs, but cannot be opened directly. Because this is just a shortcut for the PC user. Here's how to play CDA files.
Play CDA file: To open the music
- The CDA file shows you information about the title on an audio CD. In fact, this file doesn't exist. In contrast to a data CD, music CDs contain only one sound track.
- In order to call up individual tracks on this audio track on the PC, there is the CDA link ("Compact Disc Audio"). Therefore, if you copy the CDA files to the PC, you have nothing more than the shortcuts.
- To open CDA files, you can use the Windows Media Player pre-installed in Windows. You can do this by selecting "This PC"> right-click on the CD> "Play" in Explorer.
- Alternatively, you can play the CD with free players such as the VLC media player.
To copy the files on the CD, you can use the free CDex Converter. The reads out the CD and creates WAV and MP3 files.
On the next page we will show you how you can also copy files from a DVD to your PC.
