Chrome: turn off animations - how it works
Especially in social networks like Google Plus there are more and more GIF animations that you can turn off in Chrome. We'll show you how it's done.
Disable GIF animations in Google Chrome
Chrome does not support what Firefox and Internet Explorer have been able to do for a long time: If you press the Esc key on a website, the animation stops. How to upgrade the function in Google's browser:
- Download the Gif Stopper add-on.
- Click on the blue "Free" button in the top right and then on "Add".
- The add-on is now automatically integrated into Chrome.
- If you are later on a website with an animation such as a GIF image, just press the Esc key on your keyboard. The animation freezes immediately.
- This cannot be started again. The animation only starts again when you reload the page.
