Chrome slow: waiting for cache - you can do that
It happens every now and then that the browser cache in Chrome is full. Chrome is slow and shows the message "Waiting for cache". We'll show you what you can do about it.
Chrome: Clear browser cache
When surfing, Chrome stores data in the so-called cache, so that websites can be set up faster the next time they are loaded. If you visit a lot of large websites or load videos, the cache may get crowded. You can then empty it manually:
- Open the menu in Chrome with the three lines at the top right and click on "Settings".
- Scroll down to the bottom and click "Show advanced settings."
- Under "Privacy" click on "Clear browser data" and then select only the option "Images and files in cache". Set the "total period" as the period.
- Click "Clear browsing data" to clear the cache.
Clear cache automatically
If the problem occurs frequently, you should have the cache cleared automatically every time you exit Chrome:
- Open the settings again and scroll to the point "data protection".
- This time click on "Content Settings" and under "Cookies" select the option "Delete local data after closing the browser".
- With a click on "Done" you save the settings.
