Chrome: Remove most visited websites
If more than one person is using a computer, you should remove the most visited websites from your Chrome browser. Otherwise, others will see which side you have surfed on - this can quickly become uncomfortable. We show you step by step how to proceed.
Remove most visited websites from Chrome
- In Chrome, click on the menu button with the three bars at the top right.
- Once in the menu, select the "Settings".
- Now switch to the "History" tab on the left.
- A context menu then opens. Click on the "History" entry here. Alternatively, call up the history menu with the key combination [Ctrl] + [H].
- Now select the "Delete browser data ..." button.
- Leave the checkmark at "Browsing history" and set a period for deletion. You can remove the remaining ticks if you want to keep this browser data. For example the "download history".
- Once you click "Clear browsing data" Chrome will remove your most visited websites and the entire history.
Remove individual most visited pages in the Chrome browser
You can also remove individual pages from the list of the most visited websites:
- To do this, go to a new tab in Chrome.
- Your most visited websites are displayed under the search bar.
- With a click on the cross you can now remove the page.
- Tip: To completely prevent the recommendations in Chrome, you can simply change the start page.
