Chrome Mobile for Android: Use bookmarks
You can also use your existing bookmarks in the "Chrome Mobile" Android app. We show you how to import the saved links from other browsers or create new ones.
Import bookmarks from the desktop version of Chrome
The quickest way to get to the bookmarks of other Chrome browsers. They are linked to your Google account:
- To access your existing Chrome bookmarks, press the menu button on your smartphone.
- Then tap [Settings]. There, select the entry [Sign in to Chrome] and enter your Google account.
- Also make sure that synchronization is turned on after you log in. You can access the settings shown in the screenshot by tapping on your Google account.
Use the bookmarks of the Android browser
If you are not yet a Chrome user, you can also import the bookmarks from the standard browser:
- In Chrome Mobile, press the menu button on your smartphone and select the entry [Settings].
- Press the menu button again. Select the item [Import bookmarks]. Then confirm the pop-up with [Import].
- Chrome now copies your bookmarks from the Android browser. To access it, press the Menu key and tap [Bookmark].
- Navigate there to the path [Bookmarks \ Mobile Bookmarks \ Imported Bookmarks]. All copied favorites are now listed here.
Create missing bookmarks in Chrome Mobile yourself
If you have not saved your bookmarks in any of the browsers mentioned, you can also set your favorites manually:
- To do this, open the website you want to save as a bookmark.
- Then press the menu button and tap on the star in the top right corner (see screenshot).
- Give your bookmark a name and choose where to save it. Confirm with [Save].
- You can also access the new bookmarks using the menu button and the [Bookmarks] entry. The exact folder depends on the settings in step 3.
