Chrome: tab preview in taskbar - does it work?
For Google Chrome, too, you can activate the tab preview for each individual tab in the task bar. We'll show you how it's done.
Chrome: Activate tab preview in taskbar
You can activate this function with a small comment in the shortcut of the browser. In the test, however, the instructions did not work under Windows 8.
- Find the Google Chrome shortcut on your desktop. The link in the taskbar is not required here.
- If you don't have a shortcut on the desktop, you can simply create one yourself. To do this, open the path "C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Google \ Chrome \ Application". Right-click on the "chrome.exe" file and select the "Desktop" under "Send to".
- Right-click on the Google Chrome shortcut and select the "Properties".
- Under the "Link" tab you will find the "Target" category.
- Add the following command after the entry: "--enable-aero-peek-tabs".
- The whole command should look like this: "C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Google \ Chrome \ Application \ chrome.exe" --enable-aero-peek-tabs
- Close the window with the "OK" button and restart the browser.
We will show you how to activate the tab preview for Firefox in the next practical tip.
