Chrome: "Website is not available" - what to do?
If a web page is "unavailable" in Chrome, there are still several ways to go to the page. We'll show you what you can do.
"Website Unavailable": Troubleshoot Chrome
- Make sure your internet connection works properly. The test on another PC is suitable for this to rule out network or hardware problems. You should also try a different browser on your computer, because sometimes the problem only occurs with Chrome. Otherwise, the problem may also be on the side that you want to access, for example if the servers are temporarily unavailable.
- Check the URL you entered in Chrome. A small alphabet wrench already ensures that the page cannot be opened.
- Check your proxy settings. To do this, open the "Settings" and click on "Advanced Settings".
- Scroll down to "Network" and select "Change proxy settings". Click on "LAN settings" and check "Automatically detect settings". Confirm with OK".
- Select "Privacy" in the advanced settings.
- Click on "Content Settings" and select "All Cookies and Website Data". Click the "Delete all" button.
- If you still see a "Website Unavailable" message in Chrome, you should check your PC for malware. Check your system with a tool like Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
