Set up your Chromebook properly - a guide
If you’re launching the Google Chromebook for the first time, you’ll need to set it up before you can use it. In this guide, we show you what you should pay attention to.
Chromebook: Establish power for the facility
To set up the Chromebook, you first need to connect the device to the power:
- Insert the battery into the battery compartment until it clicks into place.
- You must then establish a power supply so that the battery is not discharged.
- Now turn on the Chromebook. Since this is the first start, you need to set up the system first.
First start: set up your Chromebook
Now that you've set up your Chromebook for setup, you're ready to go:
- Once the system has started for the first time, you need to make the regional and language options.
- You then need to connect to a WiFi network. Click "Add Network" and search for your network.
- Now you need to agree to the Google Terms of Service. If you decline, you won't be able to use the Chromebook.
- The system now starts installing the necessary updates (if available).
- Once installation is complete, you will need to sign in with your Google account. If you don't already have a Google account, you can create one directly.
- Make sure that you use your main account as this account will be registered as the owner of the Chromebook.
- In the next step you can add a photo to your account by clicking on "Add Photo" and looking for the appropriate image.
- Finally, the introductory tour will begin, which will walk you through the basic functions and settings of your Chromebook. After that, setup is complete and you can start using the Chromebook.
