Instructions: Fix playback delay on Chromecast Audio
Especially when using multiple speakers, sound bars and receivers, delays are not uncommon with Chromecast Audio. However, you can adjust the delay in a few simple steps:
- Open the Google Home app on your smartphone and tap the device icon in the top right.
- Tap the menu icon next to the asynchronous loudspeaker and select the "Settings" there.
- Under "Correcting the group delay" you can view and adjust the delay.
- Stand as centrally as possible between the two asynchronous loudspeakers in order to balance the delay as well as possible. Keep the following tips in mind.
Tips & Tricks: Reduce Delay on Chromecast Audio
- If you are using multiple speakers with Chromecast Audio, the first thing you should do is correct the delay for the speaker with the greatest delay. You can then correct all other speakers.
- Let music run during the process, as this is the best place to notice the delay. If there are more than two speakers in use, it can be helpful to set only two speakers to loud at a time.
- If your changes only increase the asynchrony between the speakers, reset the delay and try another speaker.
