Chromecast: no sound when playing - what to do?
If you don’t hear sound through Chromecast, there may be various issues. Below we give you tips on how to fix this error.
No sound when playing on Chromecast - you can do that
If you’re not getting any audio when you’re streaming with Chromecast, there are a number of reasons why. In this case, follow the steps below.
- Try another HDMI port that you plug the Chromecast into.
- At the same time, make sure that the stick is properly connected in the HDMI port.
- If you supply the stick with the supplied USB cable directly on the television, connect the USB cable to the supplied plug and plug it into a socket.
- Also try the power supply via the USB port on your TV if you have used the plug.
- Make sure your TV volume is not muted or turned down. Also, make sure the streaming source is broadcasting sound.
- You will find further setting options in the sound settings of your TV set. For example, you can determine the source of the sound here.
- As a last resort, only the Chromecast reset may help. To do this, press and hold the button on the back of the stick for about 25 seconds until it starts to flash blue. Then you can start the setup again.
