Cinema 4D Application Error - what to do?
In this tutorial we will explain what you can do if you get an "Application Error" error message in "Cinema 4D".
Fix application error in Cinema 4D
With the help of the professional graphics software "Cinema 4D" you can, among other things, model, create and stage high-quality computer graphics, 3D models or impressive animations. In this guide, we explain how to proceed if "Cinema 4D" cannot be started due to an error message:
- Press the [Windows] and [R] keys on your desktop. A new window opens with the "Execute" command.
- Enter "devmgmt.msc" in the search bar and confirm your entry with "OK". The Device Manager opens, which you can use to manage all devices on your PC.
- Click on the "Graphics card" device so that the graphics card of your computer is displayed. Right-click on your graphics card and then switch it off with the "Deactivate" command (see screenshot). Your external graphics card is switched off and the internal graphics card is used. Don't be alarmed if your display is out of focus and the font is very large or details are lost.
- Now you can start "Cinema 4D" without errors. Reactivate your external graphics card in Device Manager when "Cinema 4D" has started successfully and is running smoothly. As soon as you have switched on your external graphics card again, your usual display is shown.
- Note: Use current graphics card drivers to prevent error messages and to be able to work smoothly.
- How to update the driver for your NVIDIA graphics card is explained in another article. There is also a corresponding manual for ATI Radeon cards.
In another article we have listed the best alternatives to "Cinema 4D" and to the free 3D animation software "Blender".
