Civilization: Beyond Earth - Rising Tide: release date and system requirements
Starting October 9th, you can try out numerous new features in Beyond Earth, including new factions, planet types, units and political options. Your computer must be able to do this:
- Rising Tide is not a stand-alone extension. This means that you definitely need the base game Civilization: Beyond Earth. The good thing about it: If that works for you, Rising Tide also runs.
- The minimum requirements for Windows computers are an Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz or AMD Athlon X2 64 2.0 as CPU. You also need at least 2 GB of RAM. For the graphics card, you should use an Intel HD 3000, ATI Radeon HD 3650 or nVidia 8800GT. Of course, better graphics cards also work. You also need 13 GB of hard disk space and a DirectX 9.0c-compatible sound card.

- SteamOS and Ubuntu 14.04 also support Rising Tide. Here you need at least one processor on the level of an Intel Core i3 or AMD A10, 4 GB of RAM, 8 GB of hard disk space and an nVidia GeForce 260 or better.
