Clash of Clans: Dark barracks - units at a glance
The Clash of Clans Dark Barracks houses a variety of powerful units. Below we give you an overview of the mysterious and strong creatures compared to the conventional units.
Clash of Clans: units from the Dark Barracks
As soon as you have reached the seventh town hall level in Clash of Clans, you can build a dark barracks next to the conventional barracks. In this, you will train so-called "Dark Troops" for the first time with the help of the Dark Elixir, which you can get from the "Dark Elixir Drill".
- There are now six different units of "Dark Troops". In addition to the lackeys, the pig knight, the valkyrie and the golem, the dark units also include the witch and the lava dog. According to the game developer "Supercell", additional units will be added to the Dark Barracks in the foreseeable future.
- The dark units in the barracks are on average much stronger than their allies of the conventional barracks. However, these creatures also differ, among other things, in terms of damage, hit points and training costs.
- The dark units are unlocked with each further level of the dark barracks and can then be trained by you with dark elixir. Similar to conventional troops, you can also research the dark units in the laboratory to improve their status.
Clash of Clans: units at a glance # 1 - The lackey and the pig knight
- The lackey is the cheapest unit in the Dark Barracks. He has high damage, a very low number of hit points, a very high speed and low training time and requires little living space.
- Together with the lava dog, the lackey is the only unit that can fly and therefore cannot be attacked by ground defense. However, due to the few hit points, it is particularly sensitive to air defense and should therefore only be trained in large numbers or in combination with a robust flight unit.
- The pig knight also belongs to the rather cheaper units of the dark barracks. Its characteristics are the extremely high damage, an acceptable number of hit points, the low training costs and its high speed. He still takes up little space in the army camp and can be trained within a few minutes.
- The decisive advantage of the pig knight is that he prefers defense buildings and destroys them very quickly due to his high damage. However, it is vulnerable to ground defense, especially traps like the giant bomb and the jump trap. Therefore, it is advisable that you plan an attack well and avoid possible confrontations with traps.
Clash of Clans: Units at a Glance # 2 - The Valkyrie and the Golem
- The Valkyrie is also a relatively affordable unit. It has a high damage value, many hit points and is comparatively fast, which makes it the "all-rounder" of the dark barracks. With a minimum training time of eight minutes and a living space of eight units, she is more of an average in this regard.
- As the only unit in the Dark Barracks, the Valkyrie can attack several troops and buildings simultaneously. It is therefore particularly suitable for destroying enemy troops or several nearby defense buildings. A valkyrie should always be accompanied by a resilient unit to protect it from ground defense attacks.
- The Golem is the most expensive unit in the Dark Barracks so far. Although it has a very low damage and speed value, it convinces with the highest number of hit points of all ground troops. Note that the Golem with 30 units requires a lot of living space and requires a long training time with at least 45 minutes.
- Golems are only suitable for attacking enemy villages and should always be used with troops that have a high damage value. The advantage of golems is that, like the pig knights, you prefer defense buildings and split into two mini-golems after their death. Golems are practical units to draw the focus of ground defense.
Clash of Clans: Units at a Glance # 3 - The Witch and the Lava Dog
- The witch is a rather expensive unit with low status values: Neither her low hit points nor her minimal damage or speed value can convince at first glance. In addition, with twelve units it consumes a lot of living space and is only trained in the dark barracks after at least 20 minutes.
- Although the witch has relatively poor status values, her advantage lies in her individual ability: she can summon up to eight skeletons, which draw the focus of ground defense to themselves and thus give the sensitive troops free rein. That is why the witch is understood as a second troop support. It should best be combined with resilient and sensitive troops in order to exploit their full potential.
- The lava dog is the second most expensive unit after the Golem, has the least damage value in the Dark Barracks, but at the same time convinces with the highest number of hit points in the entire game. The required living space of 30 units and the training time of 45 minutes are identical to the values of the golem.
- The lava dog is the only resilient air unit with the exception of the kite. That and the fact that the lava dog prefers enemy air defense provides a good basis for a sophisticated air attack. The lava dog should therefore be combined with strong air units such as balloons or lackeys.
- The fact that icons in the Dark Barracks have the signature "Available soon ..." is an indication that further Dark Units will be published in the future. Supercell also confirmed this in a piece of news within the game.
