Remove Clearthink - Here's how
In this practical tip, we will show you how to remove the Clearthink program from your PC. The software is not a virus, but is often referred to as adware on the Internet. You may have accidentally installed it with free software.
Remove Clearthink using Control Panel
- First open the Control Panel and switch to the "Programs and Features" setting.
- Browse the list for programs called "Clearthink" or programs you don't know. If you still know on which day you installed the program, delete all programs with this date. Clearthink files are often hidden behind other names.
Clear Clearthink remnants with the AdwCleaner
- In order to make sure that you have removed all Clearthink files from your PC, you should also run an adware scan on your computer. We recommend, for example, the free tool AdwCleaner.
- Check your complete PC with the program. Since this scan checks the entire PC, it can take several hours to finish.
- Finally remove all objects that you do not know.
- Then restart your PC.
Check browser for suspicious addons
- As a last step, check your browser for suspicious addons. You can then remove them from the browser manually.
- The default search engine may have been changed. So make sure that Google is set up as the default search engine.
- A simple solution would be to reset the browser. Here's how to do it on the most popular browsers, Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer.
- Also check your browser shortcuts on the desktop.
