Clementine: Copy music from PC to smartphone
With the music player Clementine you can easily copy your songs from your PC to your smartphone. We show how this works in this practical tip.
Copy music to your smartphone via USB
If your mobile phone is connected to your computer via USB, synchronization is very easy:
- Make sure your smartphone is connected to the PC. You can check in the Clementine navigation under "Devices" whether your mobile phone was recognized by the tool.
- Then mark the files to be copied with the cursor and click the right mouse button. Then select "Copy to device ...".
- In the following menu, select your smartphone and click "OK" to start the copying process.
- Just like songs, you can also synchronize multiple albums and artists with your right-click on your mobile phone.
Clementine Remote: Wirelessly synchronize playlists between PC and smartphone
The free Android app Clementine Remote allows you to control the music player remotely with your smartphone. And the tool can do even more: if desired, it synchronizes your music wirelessly:
- In order to use Clementine Remote, you have to allow wireless connections in the desktop program. To do this, go to "Settings" under Clementine under "Tools". Set all checkmarks in the "General"> "Network remote control" menu.
- Make sure your smartphone and PC are on the same WiFi network. When you open the app, Clementine Remote will ask you to enter both the computer's IP and authentication code. You can find this under the network remote control. Now click on "Connect"
- To download the current track, simply go to the menu icon at the top right and select "Download song".
- If you click on the upper left corner, you will get to the general menu. In the "Playlists" subitem you can either go to the current or another playlist and download it with a click on the arrow at the top right.
