Clouding effect on TV - simply explained
Clouding effects refer to picture errors in TVs, which occur primarily with LCD TVs. We will explain the effect to you in more detail.
Clouding effect on the LCD TV
If you run an LCD TV for a long time, the panel of the screen heats up. This creates small bright areas at the corners of the picture. Depending on the nature of the error, these image errors can look like small clouds that lie over the television picture. You can see what a clouding effect can look like in the photo.
- To limit the clouding effect, you should turn off the TV when you no longer need it. During this time, the device can cool down, reducing the clouding effect.
- Alternatively, cooling the TV helps. This can be done passively due to a low room temperature or actively, for example by using PC fans to additionally cool the ventilation slots of the TV.
