CMD command: ping test
You can use the ping test to check the connection to a website, your local network or another computer.
- Press the [Windows] and [R] keys simultaneously so that the "Execute" command opens. Enter "cmd" there and confirm with "OK".
- Enter the command "ping localhost" in the editor to check the connection to the local host. However, you can also determine the connection to a computer using the IP address: "ping 111.222.33.4". A connection to a website is also possible: "ping www.chip.de"
- Confirm your entry with "Enter" and wait a short moment. You will then receive information about whether the connection is successful or not and how long the ping time is.
- If you want to run a more specific ping test, you can use the "ping /?" display. For example, you can change the size of the packages sent.
