If you work with the CMD console under Windows, you have to change the directory every now and then. We show you the most important commands for this.
CMD: Open directories in the console
Press the "Windows" and "R" keys simultaneously so that the "Execute" command opens. Enter "cmd" here and confirm with "OK".
- "dir" followed by the path: This command shows the complete folder structure of the path. If you only enter "dir", the content of the current directory will be listed (see picture).
- "cd" followed by folder or path: This allows you to switch to a folder or path, eg "cd C: \ Program \" or "cd D:".
- "cd \": You go directly to the root directory, usually "C: \"
- "cd ..": Use this to navigate a folder path backwards
