CMR in TV: what does that mean?
The term "CMR" often appears on Samsung TVs. You can find out what the abbreviation means in this article.
TV purchase: what does CMR mean?
- The abbreviation "CMR" stands for "Clear Motion Rate". CMR values often appear on Samsung TVs. With the introduction of the J series, however, the CMR was replaced by the PQI.
- The CMR consists of the refresh rate, the backlight control and the image processor.
- For example, a 100 Hz TV can have a CMR of 400 because the frame rate is multiplied by other factors.
- Before buying a TV, you should therefore carefully read its specifications. An indication of 400 Hz CMR does not correspond to a "real" 400 Hz, since the factors described above are included.
