Retrofit collections for Kindle Fire
Unlike the Touch, the Kindle Fire does not offer its users any collections. He presents the e-books under »books« or in the carousel more or less disorganized. You can retrofit the collections with an inexpensive app.
Collections app for book collections on Kindle Fire
By default, the Kindle Fire can only be sorted by author, topicality or title under »Books«. You cannot compile books thematically. For many readers, this is a problem that you can solve with a paid, yet affordable app.
- The "Collections for Kindle Fire HD" app costs 2.29 euros.
- Each time the app is started, the app scans your Kindle and presents previously unknown book recommendations. With »Add all« you can add them to the virtual bookshelf.
- The individual shelves visualize categories to which you can assign the books. The newly inserted eBooks can be found on the »Uncategorized« shelf, which you can open by tapping.
- Check the desired book and then tap on the volume marked in this way. In the context menu, tap on "Move To Category" (see picture). In the next menu, select the future shelf and confirm with »OK«.
- With »Create New Category« you create a new category.
- To read an eBook, simply tap on it and use »Open«.
- Warning: Kindle Fire does not remember the last position in books that are open. It is therefore advisable to mark the current position with a bookmark.
