One of the completely new functions in iOS 7 is the Control Center. In this practical tip we will tell you how this works and what you can do with it.
iOS 7: What can the Control Center do?
Regardless of whether you are on the home screen, in an app or on the lock screen, by swiping upwards from the bottom of the screen, the Control Center can be opened.
- Here all the important functions are bundled in one place. The Control Center is divided into five areas (see picture).
- The top line contains the most important and most frequently used functions. If you tap one of the symbols with your finger, this function will be activated, should it turn white and deactivate when it turns black again. From left to right you can switch the flight mode, the WLAN, the Bluetooth, the "do not disturb" function and the screen lock on and off.
- Most of the space is filled in the middle by the music player. Here you will find a small player with which you can start and stop the current song, regulate the volume and jump to the next or previous song. If you click on the current title, the "Music" app opens.
- At the bottom you will find four further functions. The integrated flashlight function is completely new on the iPhone. Previously, this could only be used via apps. On the right you will also find buttons with which the stopwatch, the calculator and the camera can be opened.
Deny access to the Control Center
Especially in game apps, the Control Center is opened quickly thanks to fast and wild finger movements. To prevent this from happening and to prevent third parties from accessing your settings without your security code, you can prohibit the Control Center from accessing the lock screen and / or apps.
- Open the "Settings" app on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
- At the bottom of the screen you will find the "Control Center" menu item.
- Here you can now allow or deny access "on the lock screen" and / or "from apps".
Unfortunately, you have not yet been able to adapt the Control Center to your needs.
