By deleting cookies in Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer, you remove Internet traces and create some storage space. With each of the three browsers, you use the same key combination to delete Internet cookies:
How to delete cookies in Google Chrome
With Google's internet browser, you can delete cookies in two easy steps:
- Press the key combination Ctrl + Shift + Delete on the keyboard. The "Delete browser data" window opens.
- Select the period for which the cookies are to be deleted from the dropdown menu. If you want to delete all saved cookies, select "Total period". Remove the check mark everywhere except for the entry "Delete cookies and other website and plug-in data" (see screenshot). Finally click on "Clear browser data".
Cookies can also be deleted with Mozilla Firefox
If you use Firefox, you can clean up your Internet traces similar to Chrome:
- Press and hold the Ctrl, Shift and Delete keys. The "Clear Latest History" window opens.
- In the dropdown menu you determine the period for which the cookies are deleted. If you want to delete all saved cookies, select "All" here. If no selection is displayed below, you must click on the arrow to the left of "Details". Now take the check everywhere, except for "Cookies" (see screenshot). Confirm with "Delete now".
Remove cookies via "Clear browsing history" in IE
Internet Explorer can also be used to delete Internet cookies in the same way. However, do not select a period here:
- Press the key combination Ctrl + Shift + Delete. The "Clear browsing history" window opens.
- Deselect everything except "Cookies" (see screenshot). Close the window by clicking on "Delete".
