Counter Strike Source: Create CSS Server - Here's how
- First you need the HLDSUpdateTool to create your own server.
- Install it in the following directory: C: \ HL2SERVER
- Now the server has to download all the necessary data. Open the command prompt and enter the command "cmd".
- Now change to the directory of the server with "cd C: \ hlserver" and type in "HldsUpdateTool.exe -update" to start the update. The duration of the update process depends on various factors, but it usually takes between five and 15 minutes.
- As soon as all data has been downloaded, create a link to srcds.exe in the server directory. Right click on the file, go to "New" and "Create shortcut". Create the shortcut anywhere or in a folder from which you want to start the server.
- Right click on the shortcut and go to Properties. Add the following after "C: \ hl2server \ srcds.exe": -console -game cstrike + map de_dust -maxplayers 16 -autoupdate -tickrate 100
- You can change these parameters as required. You can thus determine which card is selected first and how many slots the server should have.
- The setup of the server is now complete and you can start it with the command ./srcds_run -console -game cstrike + map de_dust -maxplayers 16 -autoupdate or by clicking on the link. If you have selected other parameters, you may have to adjust them in the start command.
