Have the CPU temperature displayed in the BIOS - how it works
Would you like to read out the CPU temperature of your computer? Find out how the BIOS can help you here.
Get CPU temperature in BIOS
You do not necessarily need additional software to determine the CPU temperature. The software of the mainboard, the so-called BIOS, also supplies this data.
- Start your computer and open the BIOS menu when starting up. Depending on the BIOS manufacturer, you have to press the [F1], [F2] or [Del] key, for example. If in doubt, consult the motherboard documentation.
- Depending on the manufacturer and version, the BIOS now provides you with a more or less large number of setting options. Search for "H / W Monitor", "Hardware Monitor", "PC Health", "Health" or similar.
- Use the arrow keys to switch to this menu item or use the mouse if your computer has a so-called UEFI BIOS.
- You can now see the current temperature under the "CPU Temperature" entry.
