Craft Terminal (Minecraft Version Changer) - download it here
If you download the free "Craften Terminal" (formerly "Minecraft Version Changer"), you get back the early alpha feeling. We show you how to do this.
For safety: save previous versions of Minecraft
With the Craften Terminal you can switch to any Minecraft version free of charge. For example, you can downgrade after a faulty update or enjoy the simple alpha versions. For security reasons, you should back up your data:
- To do this, download and install the free Craften Terminal tool.
- To do this, switch to the "Backups" tab.
- Mark the data to be backed up here. "Client, Mods and configuration" saves your installed mods and the current settings. With "Worlds" you save your own worlds and "Texturepacks and resourcepacks" creates a backup of the installed themes.
- Finally, click "Create Backup" and choose a location.
- You can restore your backup at any time using the "Select Backup ..." button.
Restore old Minecraft version - how it works
Now you can dare to minecraft and import the desired version:
- To do this, switch to the "Minecraft versions" tab and look for the desired Minecraft version in the left column.
- Click on "Change Version", restore the old Minecraft version. You can then dive straight into the game via "Start Minecraft".
This practical tip refers to "Craften Terminal" in version 3.5.5. You can also change the Minecraft texture pack for the perfect retro feeling.
