1. The largest crowfunding website: Startnext

"Startnext" was founded in 2010 and was the first German crowdfunding platform. So far, around 2, 000 different projects have been submitted for funding. The success rate is around 40 percent. Successful examples include the TV magazine "stoersender.tv" with Dieter Hildebrandt and a food sharing platform.

• Target group: artists, creatives and inventors.
• Costs: Basically, Startnext is free of charge and free of commission. However, premium features can be purchased to better market a project. Startnext will then set up a Facebook account for you, create press releases and advertising QR codes and business cards.

3. Expensive crowdfunding for visionaries: VisionBakery

The "VisionBakery" platform, founded in 2010, is today the second largest German crowdfunding website: Over 4, 000 projects have tried to finance using VisionBakery - however, only around 100 projects were successful. Among them, for example, a second radio studio for "detektor.fm" and the World Cup participation of the German women's national team in lacrosse.
