Setting up CryptLoad - a guide
Have you chosen the Cryptload download manager and need instructions on how to set it up? We show you which settings are necessary so that the program can save you as much time as quickly as possible.
Set up cryptload: the main settings
You can also reread the individual steps in our picture gallery.
- First you have to download Cryptload - you can find it for free download at CHIP. The tool is packed as a RAR file, so you may need WinRAR to open the archive.
- Once you have started and updated Cryptload, you will be in the main window. Click on the clipboard with the two hooks in the upper right corner and you will reach the "Settings". First select the "Main" tab.
- Here you can make the basic settings first - the tool can monitor your clipboard, for example: if you copy a link (which leads to one of the specified file formats), the download dialog is automatically called up.
- Below you can decide whether archives (e.g. RAR and ZIP files) should be unpacked automatically and downloaded again in the event of errors, and how the size values of your download objects are displayed.
Set up cryptload: packages and plugins
Now switch to the "Package" tab.
- The "Package Path" indicates the current location of your downloads. Of course, you can change it as you wish.
- Now it becomes important: Determine whether the file download should be "Immediately" and thus automatically or "Manually". The download type depends on whether you prefer a particular hosting provider (e.g. uploaded or Share-Online) and have a premium account for it.
- In the "RouterControl" you usually only check if you are a free user and want to download something from a provider that only allows a certain number of file downloads per day or per hour. Cryptload will then try to restart your internet connection to get a new IP address that most file sharing services use to identify their users. Tip: If you have a static IP address (often with cable network connections), re-connecting is unfortunately not helpful.
- You only need the next "Plugins" settings menu if you are a premium user and therefore want to enter your access data for the appropriate hoster.
Set up cryptload: router and connection
If you have activated the "RouterControl", you must now tell the program which device you are using for your Internet access so that it can be restarted. To do this, switch to the "Router" tab.
- It is usually sufficient to select one of the preset network devices in the "Router" drop-down menu, since all common models are listed and then enter the associated user name and password. If this does not lead to success, Cryptload also offers various other options for controlling your Internet connection.
- Check "activate" under "Reconnect" (if not already done) and then select the last setting category "Connection" if you make changes to the maximum number of files to be loaded in parallel, use an HTTP proxy or Cryptload's want to limit the bandwidth used.
