CS: GO - This is how the ranking system works
A new ranking system has been in place at CS: GO since the Bloodhound update on May 27, 2015. The bonuses and multipliers are not always easy to understand for beginners. Therefore we present the most important changes.
How the CS: GO ranking system works
Valve has come up with a sophisticated level system for the shooter that you cannot immediately see through at first glance:
- The most important information in advance: With 5000 XP and multiples of it you level up and get a new badge. You can reach a maximum of level 40 and start again if necessary. For every complete game run up to level 40, you will receive a service medal.
- In the different game modes you get different XP multipliers: In "Arms Race" your points are simply evaluated (XP x 1), in "Demolition" you already get double the number (XP x 2). "Casual" brings a fourfold bonus (XP x 4) and the classic "Deathmatch" only 20% of the points (XP x 0.2)
- Theoretically you get the most points in the "Competetive" mode, which you can play from level 3. However, the bonus is calculated here from your matches won in this mode: Bonus = Rounds won x 30.
- But that's not all: For CS: GO players, a game week always starts on Wednesday at 4:00 a.m. Within this time you can also receive a so-called XP boost of 5000 XP. However, the respective multiplier depends on your XP earned in the current week.
- Up to approx. 4500 XP in the current week, the XP is quadrupled (XP x 4). Up to 7500 XP you get a doubling (XP x 2), after that only the regular XP. But be careful, from around 11000 XP you will be slowed down rapidly. Here you will be punished for advancing too quickly and your XP will only be weighted with a factor of 0.175.
- Once a week you also get a random skin for a weapon when you reach a new level.
